Institute
The ECII - Ethical & Compliance International Institute was founded by a group of academics, doctorates, from three legal and professional systems: Portugal, Spain and Brazil, however expanding to other systems and countries, consisting of an European association of private law, non-profit or party affiliation, of a scientific, technical and pedagogical nature, with international operations, whose social object is: studies, consultancy, seminars, conferences, lectures, congresses and any other events aimed at the discussion and dissemination of topics related to compliance ”, combating corruption and bribery; political science, public policy; public management in the areas: economic, social and political; “risk assessment”; of national and international governance and the law.
Thus, it develops, among others, the following activities:

seminars, conferences, lectures, congresses and any other events aimed at the discussion and dissemination of topics related to “compliance”, combating corruption and bribery; political science; public policy; public management in the areas: economic, social and political; “risk assessment”; in addition to national, international and legal governance;

advice, for the creation or improvement, of specialization or updating courses, including at a distance;

research and development of studies related to themes of a political, public management, governance and legal nature;

consultancy, “pro bono”;

elaboration, edition, publication and dissemination of yearbooks, specialized magazines, books, collections, and other works of legal, financial, public management, governance and political content, as well as the development of an editorial seal to be disseminated in association or not with publishers ;

organization, supply and availability of databases containing the results of research and studies developed by the Institute;

scientific and academic cooperation with universities, faculties, university centers, public entities, private companies and other institutes of political, financial, economic or legal studies;

granting of research grants, as well as the development of monograph competitions and other activities aimed at stimulating political, financial, economic or legal research;
-
establishment of documentation centers, physical or virtual, and the acquisition of specialized works in the areas of governance, politics, public and legal management.
Services
The Ethical & Compliance International Institute develops a range of services linked to its scope:

Implementation and Updating of Compliance and Anti-Bribery Programs based on the rules of the International Standardization Organization;

Elaboration and management of integrity risk maps;

Consultancy and assistance in the areas of Compliance, Governance and Risk and Continuity Management;

First and second party audits aimed at certifying or identifying the maturity level of the structure of theOrganization in the items mentioned in this scope;

Training for your company's teams or groups: directors, compliance officers, top management members or other groups of employees, as required by the company.

Conducting seminars, conferences, lectures, congresses and any other events aimed at the discussion and dissemination of topics related to compliance, combating corruption and bribery; political science; public policy; public management in the areas: economic, social and political; “risk assessment”; beyond national and international governance and the law;

Advice, for the creation or improvement of specialization or updating courses, including distance courses;

Research and development of studies related to topics of a legal, political, public management, public and private governance nature;

Pedro Trovão do Rosario
President
Ph.D in Law. University Teacher. Attorney.
Ph.D. in Law (Constitutional Law – Political Law), launched his career in educational area back in September 1991, initially as a Law Degree, today and since 2008 holds a Scientific Doctorate in Law (PhD) from UNED - Madrid. He has been a university professor since 1991, always in the Law field.

PEDRO TROVÃO DO ROSARIO
Currently teaching in Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral courses at Portuguese, Spanish and Brazilian Universities, as well as at the Bar Association and at higher education institutions in postgraduate and MBA programs.
Acts as a Supervisor of Doctoral Theses and Master's Dissertations, having participated as a Member (Chairman, Defendant or Member) in several Juries of Master's and Doctoral Degrees in Law, in European Universities. He has several publications in the Law field along Portugal, Spain and Brazil.
Hold a position as Director of the Law Department at Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa; and as President of the ECII – Ethical & Compliance International Institute - ECII. Back in days, he held a position as Vice-President of Fundación Universitária Internacional, based in Madrid.
Among his titles, Pedro is Doctor Honoris Causa by ULAC – Latin American and Caribbean University, based in Caracas – Venezuela; Honorary Member of the Institute of Brazilian Lawyers – IAB; International Member of the Commission on the Right to Education at the Rio de Janeiro Section of the Brazilian Bar Association; and Emeritus Member of the Comparative Law Studies Committee of the Brazilian Bar Association (Rio de Janeiro - 57th subsection).
Researcher registered at the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) since January 25, 2010, having been Director of the “Ratio Legis”- Research and Development Center in Legal Sciences at UAL until 2015.
Also acting as a lawyer in uninterrupted practice since 1993 (started his internship at the Portuguese Bar Association in 1991) today at “Trovão do Rosário & Associados – Sociedade de Advogados, SP, RL";

ALEX SANDER PIRES
Ph.D. in Legal and Social Sciences (2009), in Argentina; with postdoctoral studies in European constitutional justice (2014), in Portugal; holds also a Ph.D. in Political Science (2015), in Brazil.
Is currently affiliated, as a member and supporter, to large research and development networks at the level of Legal Science, Legal Sociology and Political Science, such as the Ethical & Compliance International Institute (ECII), International Association of Constitutional Law (IACL), International Political Science Association (IPSA), American Political Science Association (APSA), and Association Française de Science Politique (AFSP).
In the academic level, he's been teaching, for more than twenty years, in the three cycles of studies in several countries between the Americas and Europe; and currently works as a professor at the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (UAL).
As researcher, he is a member of the Scientific Council, Coordinator of the Research Group (Culture of Peace and Human Rights) and doctoral researcher at the Center for Research and Development in Legal Sciences Ratio Legis, linked to the Department of Law of the Autonomous University of Lisbon; and, member of the Scientific Council, Ph.D. researcher linked to the GLOB Research Group of the Center for Research in Justice and Governance (JUSGOV) linked to the University of Minho and Member of the Scientific Council of the Center for Research and Development on Law and Society, linked to the Faculty of Law at Universidade Nova de Lisboa (CEDIS/NOVA).
Holds the legal title as lawyer for more than 20 years, whose main registration is registered with the Brazilian Bar Association, where he held relevant positions before the class, such as: Commission President, Commission Member, Commission Consultant, Subsection Delegate, etc.; a professional always concerned with the training, on both technical and ethical aspects, of the professional lawyer. In terms of publications, between America and Europe. Respectfully acted, as author and co-author, in several individual or collective works, books and scientific journals, dozens of publications, some of which are references and indexes on the theme of constitutionalism and the axiology behind of justice.
Also acts supervising master's dissertations and doctoral theses in the academic level.
